A Love Letter For You is a genre-defying new film by director Joey Garfield. A Love Letter For You seamlessly mixes documentary and narrative, love and loss, community and solidarity, art and crime, to paint a compelling portrait of two artists and their impact on the neighborhood they grew up in. The film documents the notorious graffiti legend, Stephen "ESPO" Powers as he returns to his old stomping grounds in Philadelphia to paint a series of murals on 50 rooftops along the Market train line. The film also weaves in the fictional narrative of FIRE, a young graffiti king who is fresh out of prison on a quest to win back the love and attention of his ex girlfriend. A Love Letter For You mixes a local cast with real-life characters as they rediscover the soul of West Philly and it's dynamic community. The film is a multi-faceted project by Stephen Powers with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and is sponsored by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through the Philadelphia Exhibitions Initiative. The murals have garnered international attention and been published in a coffee table book, featured in a gallery exhibition and generated community education workshops. - Well, some of you might notice about who he is. Yeap, its Hest1 aka Wild Child (NME) ! I've been receiving some emails of nice burners from him lately. I think i need to share to ya'll too. Notice that all of 'em are painted somewhere in Indonesia. Talk about all the virgin walls.. Yummy!

So yea, MASE CREW trip finally came true.. On the first journey, Abang8, Mumu, Cabi1 and Myself went out to Tegal to visit our dear friend Same33. Tegal located in central Java, probably around 4 - 6 hours away from Jakarta by train. What i think about the place was nothing close to what i've imagined. The graffiti scene is very much alive there, but its still growing and very young. The city is more organized than Jakarta, no traffic at all, beautiful scenery, good weather, blue skies and there are so many nice people down there. Although there's not much to do except painting some graffiti. Tegal have some good tasty food and it's very cheap too ! Shout out to all Tegal writers.
